Havnt posted the new character design stuff that we had in our pitch.
Design options: So for the little dude with small man syndrome he gots large cute eyes, but the rest of his features are small. We need the large eyes obviously for the appeal to the character otherwise he will look like a complete a-hole. Another thing I subliminally placed in there was his small teeth which visually symbolize Hitlers mustache. Just one of the small hints for his personality. Havnt drawn them here but I was wondering what you guys thought about largish hands for him, seeing as he is going to be rather expressive?
Also a silhouette on the readability of contrasting characters, not happy with the tall dude, I need to work on him.
Storyboards are still being tweaked and replaced at points storywise. Been thinking why each storyboard frame has to be there, so we dont have un-nessecary camera which will be a waste of time on our part later on. Also last night, did a new banner for the blog seeing as the characters already up there have changed. Hope you guys like it, the blog wont allow me to change it so I've sent it to Bombi so he can.

ReplyDeleteOkay, your design for the smaller guy is great. Very happy with it. Was gonna ask about the hands before but forgot. Larger hands are a good idea. Im happy for us to pick this guy as our final look. Oh about the ears. we never actually see this guy without the helmet on off right? It might be worth making them a little longer so he is noticeably a rabbit. Would that actually help? maybe not. Just an idea. But otherwise, yer loving it. Priceless facial expression on the right ^_^
For the tall guy. I think we should keep him looking intelligent and timid. Also not sure if the longer helmet will read as a helmet and not an odd tall hat thing. I dont know.
Btw, why did you draw me blonde?

ReplyDeleteYea I think the taller guy needs to be rethunk in terms of personality and design. Im not sure about him being smart or lanky and dumb. We should have a coffee meeting over all this. Also im pretty sure im the blonder cause of the massive head and un-shaviness. Ill upload it to facebook now. I also tried the bigger ears earlier on but its didnt work and just looked tacky. If we keep the ears down and small ill think it will work, also we wont be stuffing around with 2 sets of large bunnny ears for the production. I just don't wanna be crying over it later on:P Again, its up to you guys.

ReplyDeleteIf u say shorter ears are better i believe u. Also r we sure we didnt want the ears sticking onto of the helmet? Just trying to make sure we consider all the options before we definitely decide on a look.
well i think this is another case of figuring it out over coffee. Im working most afternoons this week mondays, tuesdays, wendsdays and thursdays. If you guys want we could do it earlyish one morning?
