Rough Test of Sky for Next Previz


Ok, trying to tie up the loose ends and get a start on everything. This time its the sky. Ive got the TIFF files with different layers of clouds on them. Im sure after we put them in after effects they will need to be scaled down, but in general I can only get an idea after we shove it behind the characters (aka: previz). So ill bring in the TIFF files and add them to the Crosshares folder.

Its POOP, but at least its a start!! There will be so much improvement to come!!

Also the original TIFF files are 4096x2304 so we have breathing room.

Rough speed paint so we get a bit more meat into the next previz. The current aspect ratio is 2048x1152. Twice the size of our film's. This shall test if I need to go up any further. Next is sky which will be 4096x2304 so we enough playing room with it when we shove it in.

Final Gun Concepts


Here are the final design for the guns, I added in the bunny elements into the design like Bombi suggested.

Also I plan to model the guns as well, so I do some modelling towards the film.

Environment Concepts


Ground to a certain extent will be modelled. 2D planes will be placed into after effects for hills, clouds and sky. Basic modelling will be done for ground plane and detail will mosty likely be done as normals in zbrush.

Evoblution


I said I'd tweak it, so here we are. I was so happy with Brad's interpretation that my changes were subtle enough that I had to do a side by side comparison to my thoughts on what to add or change.

I added pants, so he's not in one of those ludicrous jumpsuit things. Which is possibly realistic, I just like pants.

The other major change was the face: His eyes are slightly larger, so he looks more naturally terrified. I shifted his teeth and mouth down. Could make life easier for us when modelling the mouth, so we don't have to worry about the teeth protruding through the chin.

Skinny character is good. Easy to rig.

Hey guys, re did the character design for the second bunny. Really tried to put a personality into him. When modelling we will model him with a straight back but animate and move him into this position. Its just if we model him in this pose its going to be the hare from notre dame:P

Catch up on character design





Havnt posted the new character design stuff that we had in our pitch.

Design options: So for the little dude with small man syndrome he gots large cute eyes, but the rest of his features are small. We need the large eyes obviously for the appeal to the character otherwise he will look like a complete a-hole. Another thing I subliminally placed in there was his small teeth which visually symbolize Hitlers mustache. Just one of the small hints for his personality. Havnt drawn them here but I was wondering what you guys thought about largish hands for him, seeing as he is going to be rather expressive?

Also a silhouette on the readability of contrasting characters, not happy with the tall dude, I need to work on him.

Storyboards are still being tweaked and replaced at points storywise. Been thinking why each storyboard frame has to be there, so we dont have un-nessecary camera which will be a waste of time on our part later on. Also last night, did a new banner for the blog seeing as the characters already up there have changed. Hope you guys like it, the blog wont allow me to change it so I've sent it to Bombi so he can.

Quickly, before my bed eats my soul.


A quick one before bed. Trying to rationalise why there's 2 rabbits fighting alone. It made sense to me that there may be a guard tower. It also made sense that it should look like a rabbit.

... I mean, how many human guard posts are shaped like the freakin' Easter Island Heads? Really? More sketches to come soon.

A perfect opportunity to fiddle with colours and work towards a look. Speaking of colours, that was probably the most difficult part of this picture. Making a nice blend of colours while not standing out too much and not fuzzing all together.

Re-beat


Woo! Fiddling with colours! This is kind of what I was picturing in my head, but then again I love the sort of greenish sky Brad had.

As for our aesthetic, should we be aiming for dark messy and grungy, or something cleaner? Maybe faux TF2 clean. It may be better in some ways, but I think I like the grungy look. What do you guys think?

Storybeat


Hey guys just wiped up a quick storybeat from the head of brad. This is when O rabbit first sees B rabbit in the distance. Wanted to really go for majestic and almost patriotic in a way, it will help build up the hilarity in the gags later on (i need to do some segments of storyboards so I dont lose sight of what I first saw when I read Tom's outline). Not happy about the colours, I made them mudding but I hope you guys kinda get the idea. If we go ahead with this Ill use reference:P

Also feel free to paint over any of my stuff and repost it, it helps alot what you guys are thinkin visually:D

Soldier concepts

I've had these drawn for a number of weeks, some for Brad's idea, some for mine, and some from brainstorming on the bus. There's some more on the way of some different stuff, but this is the first one I've finished with for today.



There's a little bit of experimenting with the strength and saturation of the colours for our look, but this page is pretty narrow minded and bright coloured. While I was drawing these, I was also very conscious of the general curves of the characters, which is a good way of showing different character designs (when done properly of course, these aren't great examples...)

These were just quick to get a few ideas out of my head. Feedback, please!
