Environment Concepts

Ground to a certain extent will be modelled. 2D planes will be placed into after effects for hills, clouds and sky. Basic modelling will be done for ground plane and detail will mosty likely be done as normals in zbrush.

Checkerboard Orange

Nearly completely unwrapped. A little tweaking still, and some work on the hands, but other than that, this is a pretty accurate representation of the Orange Rabbit UV mapped...

Like peeling an orange

Unwrapping is a bitch.
This bitch is tamed. For now.

The UV was made with the low res mesh, but this is the smoothed mesh in the image above. Below is the unwrapped texture we'll be working with. Resolution is at the moment, double what we need for double resolution of the final product. See where the close-ups take us.

So that means we have:
4096 px square

We should work on:
2048 px square

We will render at:
1024 px square

Preview textures can be:
512 px square

Anmimatronic Notation

Notes for changes to our animatic as follows:

Shot 2: reframe for continuity (move to right?)

Shot 3: ideas for making it more obvious why they're jumping out into an explosion ("CHAAAARGE!!" & vox effects?)
>>Hold shot longer, add more sfx.

Shot 4.5: Add close ups for tripping?
>>Trips over his own feet - close up

Shot 7ish: Frame for OS explosion to reveal of desolation (reframe better?)
>>Knock orange off to the left a little, then quick zip out to reveal desolation.

(remember to cut on action from this to next MCU shot)

Shot 9: Reconsider reveal of Blue guy (pan? POV?)
>>Look at pixar examples

Shot 10: Get more oppinion on slow pull to CU of blue

Fighting sequence: Do some awesome camera work
>>Blue's first shot cuts on action to... Many camera angles, fast moving shots, adding items getting hit, etc. etc.

Add tripping close up again (maybe?)
>>experiment with this.

Remember what was potentially wrong with the bird thing...
>>Maybe unneccessary? Add later.

Long shot of bird getting shot (frank) - falling into frame in later sequence (tune for comic timing)

>>Change 2nd tripping framing
-add quick shot of orange's gun bouncing away
-gun falls to place, cut on action to
-strong perspective shot of gun barrel
-slow pan around gun to reveal blue shaking holding gun
-cut to orange, closer, flinching away (bracing for impact)
-cut to CU of Blue hesitating, looking away
-emphasise gun misfiring animation
-click a few times while looking
-THEN turn gun around.
-orange tenatively looks up a little. (reaction shot)
-Blue still fiddling with gun.

Jumpy camera cuts when giving gun back. Reduce to 1 or 2.

Reconsider jumping back somehow. Flat framing is lame. WATCH KUNG FU AWESOMENESS WITH CAPS LOCK OF EPIC

Show photo flying out in long shot
-cut to CU of photo

Re-arrange reactions (blue react - photo CU - Blue re-react)

Flipping photo album (use cut on action as blue rotates photos [cut from external shot to pov])

Photos framed awesomely together at end.

And all that jazz.

Blue Bunny Start

Had a little time to slap down some colour...

Your thoughts on the stages of colour through the film?? Just did a quick colour layout before bed. God damn im tired!

The pic that started it all.......

Hey guys, just thought as reference to include the image that I pitched to Tom last year that gave the theme of the short film I wanted to make. Gonçalo Pereira created this image called "Rabbit Menace". You can find more of his awsum stuff on http://rawgon.blogspot.com/

And here is some more concepts of the same project

Musicianshippleness

Some quick themes and ideas. I listen to it sometimes and it's a bit funny, but then I listen to it 5 minutes later and it fits really well.

Need sleep.

Watch movie.

Watch it on Vimeo here.

Nuff said.

Hey guys, here's the first turnaround for blue, critique and I shall change thee.

Au Francé

Here's a making of video of the first ever 3D TV series Insektors. Old classic.

Take note of the primitive technology, but really good animation principle. It's pretty broken, but cool non the less.

Rabbit Ears

Options, options, options...

Here's a turnaround with some ears. Feedback required on:

a) Do the ears work going up the top of the helmet?
b) Is this a good ear design?
c) Anything else need fixing or tweaking?
d) When are we going to the pub?

Orange progress without ears

So here's where I'm at.

These images show the left half as a single smooth proxy of the right half, which is the modeled resolution. In a nutshell, that means we'll be rigging and texturing with the right, rendering with the left.

I haven't invented a tongue yet, and the ears are the only thing left to figure out.

This look good so far?

Orange progression...

Damnit Brad, you didn't give me a hand guide! I'll make it up for now...

Final Orange Revision With Tom's Words Of Wisdom

The final update on the character, Orange. Pulled in his vest after talking with Bombi about the previous revision. Vest is now alot easier with bending with it now being more snug around his body, also brang in pockets so there are no interfering extrusions later on. Also the side and front view, saving you guys to cut it out of the model sheet when placing it into maya.

NOTE: I forgot to put the ears on the helmet. Its easy enough to model on the helmet, just keep rechecking the size with the previous example.

Easter Is Our Inspiration

Hey guys, re-did the character design with for Orange like Louise and Bombi were talking about in our meeting. There could be a problem with him bending excessively in his vest but Ive looked through the storyboards and the most he bends is when he looks up after he falls over.

Much appreciated if you guys can contact me as soon as you can somehow on what you think, so I can start working on the Blue turnaround cause it makes sense to give him one as well.

Also Ive put the ears on his helmet, im personally not sure about, i think it kinda works. It defiantly has a better silhouette.
